Normally wealthy people worked very hard physically and mentally to attain their wealth…

So why should they hand their dough which they sweated their blood and tears to get to someone who does nothing with themselves?

Even if I one day have over a billion dollars Im still not giving a single cent to a homeless man, however, a struggling student with potential I may help out..

But for anyone else… no chance.:I did say I would help certain people but only if I seen potential. Secondly to the person who mentioned people in africa. Little bit foolish… I have worked 14 hour days before and 60 hour weeks and walked quite a few miles to get to work each day on public transport. I am convinced charities are full of…I did say I would help certain people but only if I seen potential.

Secondly to the person who mentioned people in africa. Little bit foolish… I have worked 14 hour days before and 60 hour weeks and walked quite a few miles to get to work each day on public transport.

I am convinced charities are full of ****. They are just schemes for people to make money.

What kind of poor are you talking about? The poor person in America working 3 jobs at minimum wage and still living bellow the poverty line poor? Or the poor person in say, a country destroyed by poor politics and no functioning economy poor? Maybe the poor child who grew up in a drug addict home, but a child that did not choose to be there? Maybe the poor mentally ill man that sleeps homeless because he doesnt know any better…

The term poor is broad and relative.

Then again you defining rich is pretty simplified too… some people are born into money, some people get their money through corruption and theft and drug dealing… how is that any more deserving than the poor?

There are no rules to unilateral wealth redistribution, but not all poor people are lazy bums who do nothing all day and not all rich people work with blood, sweat and tears like you imply.

you should give back the money you made to the masses out of the kindness of your heart. Imagine a world where everyone thinks of each other, gives to each other whether its time, money or just lending a hand. In the end you should not think of your self but the country and your people first like a true man amongst men. I mean how much stronger would a nation be if all the homeless got to work. something you could help achieve with money and time. WHy was Nazi Germany so powerful because they thought of the country and its people before there own interest. we must band together and not divide ourselves. that is the unstoppable power of nationalism.

While I am not wealthy I do give back. I give my time. I am a volunteer tutor at the School on Wheels, a learning center for homeless children in Los Angeles. There, I help children with their homework and just take an interest in them. I was raised with the saying, If you give a man a fish, hell eat for a day but if you teach a man to fish, he will eat forever. Therefore, I also help adults find work, proofread resumes, etc. Not all homeless are lazy. Some escaped abusive marriages, some did not plan for the cost of living when they moved out here.

I also work at major sports venue where they give out coupons for free food when the local professional basketball team scores 100 points and holds the opposition to less than 100. When someone on the street says they are hungry and I usually have some of these, I give them to the person.

Because they are the ones with the MOST Money. If I was RICH I would donate to ALOT Of charities. They could do some good in the world instead of buying themselves Big Toys.

Do you think they got all they got because they are so perfect, so brilliant, etc?

Well, many poor people are poor not because they are lazy, or stupid (Although stupidity is a legal handicap — or do you just want to shoot all the non-mensa?), or whatever. Some have had bad luck.

Helping out is the waelthy persons chance to pay it forward.

Well, tax credits for one. For another, poor people spend most of their money on survival goods and services. And wealthy people own all the firms providing those goods and services.

Then too, even the wealthy can be brought low. And they know this. So they help out, because they then know they will get help if they stumble.

One word: Karma. I think everybody gets the implications. What goes around, come around.

For another reason: They can afford to. It is the same reason they buy race horces, sports teams, and climb Mount Everest….

And as for helping a stuggling student with potential, how would you recognize one? Henry Ford was first viewed as a crank. Michael Dell and Bill Gates started out in their dorm rooms. And many people told them they were nuts. I could go on and on…

And as for not helping a homeless man, how do you know that HE might not have potential? Many great and wealthy and powerful and famous men went through such phases.

I take it you want to be rich some day. I also take it you are young. And from your question, well, you have a few rough corners.

Time to get your own potential going: Slack off some of that prejudice and ignorance. I would expect thast if you did so, we can then expect truly great things from you in the next 25 years!

Well be watching. And I predict that some form of Yahoo Answers MIGHT just survive that long for you to report back.

Then u must worshipping 2 Satan or ur mind is too dark or ur parents didnt give enough love to u when ull little i think.

so dont blame the wealthy people who giving & helping out the poor when they can and what they can.

just blame ur parents that who didnt love u or torture u or may be god know what they did to u.

If you dont care about anyone else then you can just ignore the need and suffering of others. But if you have more than you need, maybe you would want to help others.

People should be willing to help one another no matter how much or how little monitory means they have but they must be willing to work and do for themselves and not be dependent on others. Some seem to think that society owes them a living and they should lay upon their bottoms and not do any thing. Then some just hit a streak of bad luck but are willing to work for whatever to get themselves back up again .

Is it because of the wealthy that some people are poor?

Wealthy turned away from charity shop selling posh 58 Farrow & Ball paint at 5? Hahaha!?

If wealthy people donate billion of dollars to charity why are there still alot of poor areas?

Why do some people think its fair to make wealthy (insured) Americans pay for poor people to have healthcare?

Why do poor people blame their bad decisions on the wealthy?
